Melody Tharp MD

Wendy Mayes FNP

Wendy Mayes, FNP

Wendy is a native of Anderson County where she was born and raised. She started her health care career as soon as she graduated high school in 2002 working for a local hospital system as a nursing assistant for 5 years while going to Roane State Community College where she graduated with a degree in nursing in 2009 and received her bachelor’s degree from King College in 2011. In 2013 she graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with her Master’s degree in Nursing, concentration Family Nurse Practitioner, with honors. .

She joined Summit Medical Group in 2013 as an Advanced Practice Nurse and she is dual board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center and American Association of Nurse Practitioners..

Wendy is happily married to Robert and they have 2 adorable children, Cooper and Adelyn. She enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with her family and friends, RV camping and traveling.

Melody Tharp, MD

Dr. Tharp is a native East Tennessean. She grew up in Tazewell, TN. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She then went to medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After completing her M.D. degree in 2002, she returned to Knoxville for her internship and residency in Family Medicine at The University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Following residency, she practiced at a community health center in New Tazewell, TN for 4 years. She then joined Summit Medical Group in August of 2009.

She places an emphasis on preventative care and particularly enjoys providing quality Well Child Care and Well Women’s visits. She is married with two daughters and a son. Her interests include reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Kristen Webb, FNP

Kristen grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with an associate’s degree in nursing in 2010 and received her bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University in 2012. In 2015, she graduated with her masters from East Tennessee State University, concentration Family nurse Practitioner, with honors.

She was employed for 2 years at UT Medical Center as a RN and 3 years at Summit Medical Group before transitioning to an Advanced Practice Nurse in 2015. She is also an adjunct faculty member for the PA Program at LMU. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Kristen is happily married with two young children. She is a member of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the S.C.O.T.T. Foundation, raising money for childhood cancers and local law enforcement officers. She enjoys fishing, hiking in the Smokies, traveling, spending time with her rescued dogs Axel and Bella, and spending time with her friends and family.


Mary Kate Cramer, FNP

Mary Kate is a Clinton Native. She graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University in 2012 with her Bachelors of Science-Nursing degree. She worked at Methodist Medical Center on the cardiac floor before returning to school to pursue her Nurse Practitioner degree. She received her Masters of Science-Nursing degree at Tennessee Technological University, where she graduated with honors in 2016.

She joined Summit in 2016 and transferred to SMG of Clinton in November 2022. She is so happy to be working in her hometown. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also a member of the Advanced Practitioner Counsel which works to streamline practices and procedures to improve patient care within Summit Medical Group. She serves as a preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students as she enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge with others.

Mary Kate is happily married with 3 adorable kids. She is most happy when she is spending time with her family. She is active in her church and choir. She enjoys painting with watercolors, listening to audiobooks and the tv show “The Office”.


Jessica Moore, FNP

Jessica grew up in Knox County and started her nursing career in 2015. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tennessee Wesleyan University and later graduated from King University with her master’s degree, concentration Family Nurse Practitioner.

She worked as an RN at Methodist Medical Center, Home Health, and East TN Children’s Hospital before pursuing her master’s degree. She has been employed with Summit Medical as a nurse practitioner since 2020. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She serves as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and enjoys sharing her experience and love for the profession.

She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and her dog Daphne.
